Disco Soup, Fighting Food Waste In Good Mood

Disco Soup, fighting food waste in good mood

But by the way, a Disco soup, what is it? Disco Soups (or Disco Salads, Disco Smoothies etc.) are collective and open sessions of cooking fruits and vegetables rejected or unsold in a musical and festive atmosphere. The soups, salads, fruit juices or smoothies thus made are then redistributed to all for free or at free price.

The disco soups allow education in healthy and tasty cooking, (re) discovery of the pleasure of cooking together, the creation of ephemeral non-marketable convivial zones in the public space, and, of course, the awareness of the most food waste.

Disco Soupe is a movement born in Paris in March 2012 that works to raise public awareness of the problem of food waste.

Community of interest spread throughout France and on the four continents, it brings together citizens and activists around values such as initiative, hack, sharing and gratuity. The challenge: to examine the system and practices related to our diet.

Through the conviviality, the sensitive and sensory experience of cooking together and the multiplication of experiments in the public space, this community tries to construct path making a new model of militancy resolutely joyful and positive.
