Three architect students from the Netherlands want to transform old broken-down houses into self-sufficient homes and make sustainable housing accesible to anyone. This is the Motown Movement. They are going to convert an old house in a neighborhood of Detroit and use it as an example of sustainable housing. And they will teach the neighbors how to do it.
One of the founders of the initiative told us the remedy for a better and more sustainable house is already out there, the challenge is the access to it.
So why not to empower the community to take action and save money, while contributing to the environment? Two birds with one stone, they would say.
